16 players report to Black Stars camp ahead of World Cup qualifiers

16 players have reported to the Black Stars Camp in Accra ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros.

The squad, made up of 13 foreign based players and three local players would begin training today as they await the remaining nine to join the team in camp.

An update from the Black Stars camp indicated that Abdul Mumin and KamalDeen Sulemana have been replaced by Leicester City winger, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Medeama SC defender, Nurudeen Abdulai.

Also, the team will hold its first training today at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, a last minute decision by the Technical Team.

The 16 players are expected to leave the shores of Accra to Kumasi this morning.

The players were, Jordan Ayew, Jojo Wollacott, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Edmund Addo,Andre Ayew, Inaki Williams, Nurudeen Abdulai and Jonathan Sowah. 

The rest are Gideon Mensah, Antoine Semenyo, Majeed Ashimeru, Osman Bukari, Hamidu Abdul Fatawu, Iddrissu Baba, Joseph Paintsil and Denis Odoi.

Ghana will face Madagascar in its face game at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Friday, November 17,2023.

The team’s second qualifier is scheduled against Comoros on Tuesday, November 21,2023.
