2025 World Athletics Championships: Fuseini misses out on semis in men’s 200m Heats

Ghana’s Ibrahim Fuseini bowed out of the men’s 200 metres at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo after finishing sixth in his heat on Wednesday morning.

Drawn in a competitive Heat 5, the 22-year-old sprinter clocked 20.66s, narrowly trailing South Africa’s Naeem Jack, who secured fifth place in 20.65s. Fuseini’s time was not enough to qualify him for the semi-finals.

The race was won by Jamaica’s Bryan Levell, who stormed to victory in 19.84s, followed by Zimbabwe’s Makanakaishe Charamba (20.06s) and Australia’s Gout Gout (20.23s). The top three all advanced to the next round.

Fuseini, making his debut on the world stage, managed a 6th place finish.
