Ghana head coach Otto Addo has underlined the importance of securing maximum points against Chad in their forthcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

The Black Stars are set to face Chad on Thursday, 4 September, at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno in N’Djamena, in what will be Matchday 7 of the qualification campaign.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, the 47-year-old tactician expressed confidence in his side’s ability to deliver.

“Our focus now is on the Chad game, and I hope we can secure a win,” Addo remarked.

Following the trip to N’Djamena, Ghana will return home to host Mali on Monday, 8 September, at the Accra Sports Stadium for Matchday 8.

In preparation, the Black Stars have scheduled training sessions at the Accra Sports Stadium today and tomorrow morning before departing for Chad.

Currently, Ghana sit top of Group I with 15 points from six matches, leaving them well placed in their quest for a fifth FIFA World Cup appearance.

The Black Stars will complete their qualification fixtures in October with matches against the Central African Republic and Comoros.
