Ghana Athletics has officially confirmed that World Athletics has ratified the outstanding 400 metres hurdles performance of Baba Seidu Mamoudu, who clocked an impressive 49.45 seconds.

The landmark achievement marks a significant milestone for Ghanaian athletics, underlining the country’s steady rise on the global track and field stage. Mamoudu’s time not only cements his place among the world’s elite 400m hurdlers but also reflects the growing depth of talent being nurtured by Ghana Athletics.

In a statement, Ghana Athletics and its Executive Board expressed pride in the official recognition of the performance, describing it as a moment of national significance and a testament to the athlete’s dedication, discipline, and hard work.

The ratification is expected to further boost Mamoudu’s confidence as he prepares for a busy international schedule. He is set to represent Ghana at the upcoming African Senior Athletics Championships in Accra in May, before competing at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in August.
