Agona Swedru-based All Blacks midfielder John Andoh is set to return to his roots in grand style as he prepares to host a special “Senya Homecoming” football match at the Senya Bereku Astro Turf on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

The exciting exhibition encounter will feature Andoh XI against Senya XI in what is expected to be a thrilling celebration of football, music and community unity in the Central Region.

The talented midfielder, who hails from Senya Bereku, is organising the event through his foundation as a way of reconnecting with his hometown and giving back to the community that nurtured his football career.

John Andoh rose to prominence during his time with Soccer Intellectuals, where he became one of the standout performers in the Division One League. Renowned for his dazzling goals, intelligent passing and creative assists, he quickly established himself as one of the most exciting midfielders to emerge from the lower divisions.

His impressive performances earned him a move to former Ghana Premier League side All Blacks ahead of the current season, where he continues to showcase his enormous potential.

In an exclusive interview, one of the organisers, Ato Dadzie, popularly known as “Coda”, revealed that the event has been carefully designed to provide supporters with a complete entertainment experience blending football and music.

According to him, there will be a curtain-raiser involving John Andoh’s alma mater, Jehovah Shammah School, before the main encounter between Andoh XI and Senya XI.

He further disclosed that several prominent musicians from Senya Bereku will also mount the stage to entertain fans throughout the event, creating a festive atmosphere for supporters expected to troop to the astro turf.

“We want the people of Senya Bereku and surrounding communities to enjoy quality football and great music on the same platform. This is more than a football game; it is about bringing the community together and celebrating local talent,” Coda stated.

The homecoming clash is expected to attract football enthusiasts, local dignitaries and supporters from across the Central Region, with many eager to witness Andoh display his talent once again in front of his home fans.

For many young footballers in the area, the occasion will also serve as inspiration, highlighting the possibilities that dedication, discipline and hard work can bring in the pursuit of a professional football career.

Kick-off for the main game is scheduled for 2:00pm at the Senya Bereku Astro Turf, with several top local players expected to feature for both sides.

Sponsors for the event include Capt. K.O. Anderson, Nenyi Otoo Acheampong and ClockWise.

The “Senya Homecoming” event promises to be a memorable occasion, combining exciting football, live musical performances and a strong sense of community pride in what is shaping up to be one of the biggest sporting and entertainment gatherings in Senya Bereku this year.
