The Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) is set to transform the iconic Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa into a massive fan zone by installing a giant screen that will broadcast all of the nation’s matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The initiative is aimed at bringing thousands of supporters together to experience the Leopards’ World Cup journey in a vibrant and communal atmosphere, despite the tournament being hosted in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Reports indicate that all of DR Congo’s matches will be shown live on the giant screen at the 80,000-capacity stadium, allowing fans across the country to unite behind the national team.

The Stade des Martyrs, the traditional home of the Congolese national team and one of Africa’s largest football venues, is expected to be packed with passionate supporters for each fixture as the country makes its long-awaited return to football’s biggest stage.

The project has been widely praised by supporters, who see it as an opportunity to create an unforgettable World Cup atmosphere in the heart of Kinshasa. Fans unable to travel to North America will now have the chance to celebrate every goal, save and victory alongside fellow supporters in a stadium renowned for its electric atmosphere.

DR Congo have been drawn in Group K, where they will face Portugal, Colombia and Uzbekistan during the group stage of the tournament. The Leopards will be hoping to make a strong impression as they seek to progress beyond the opening round and write a new chapter in the nation’s football history.

With anticipation building across the country, the giant-screen initiative underlines the growing excitement surrounding DR Congo’s World Cup participation and reflects the deep passion for football that continues to unite millions of Congolese supporters.
