Accra, Dec. 16, 2025 – Ghana’s corporate leaders are set to trade boardroom formality for sporting rivalry this Friday, December 19, 2025, as a national table tennis wellness initiative is officially launched in Accra.

The high-profile breakfast event, scheduled for 8 a.m. at The Palms by Eagles Hotel, will bring together chief executives from the banking, telecommunications, insurance and manufacturing sectors for the launch of the CEO & Corporate Ghana Table Tennis Wellness Initiative.

The nationwide programme seeks to promote workplace wellness through the introduction of table tennis in corporate offices, culminating in a biannual CEO & Corporate Ghana Table Tennis Cup. Participating organisations will be encouraged to install affordable table tennis facilities, organise monthly lunchtime playing sessions and intra-company leagues, and eventually field executive teams to compete against other firms at the national level.

Organisers describe the concept as a simple but effective approach to improving employee health, reducing workplace stress and fostering team spirit. Beyond its recreational appeal, table tennis is said to provide cardiovascular benefits, improve reflexes and enhance mental alertness.

Several early adopters in Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi have already embraced the initiative, reporting strong participation across departments, improved staff interaction and renewed energy during the working day.

The inaugural edition of the CEO & Corporate Ghana Table Tennis Cup is expected to take place in early 2026, with more than 40 companies having confirmed their participation.

As Ghana’s corporate elite gather on Friday morning to serve the first ball, organisers believe the initiative will signal a new direction for workplace wellness—one that is engaging, inclusive and firmly rooted in healthy competition
