Abdul Salam Yakubu Urges Kurt Okraku to End Tenure After Second Term

3

The President of New Edubiase United, Abdul Salam Yakubu, has expressed firm opposition to any move to extend the mandate of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) President beyond two terms.

Speaking to Asempa FM, Mr Yakubu revealed that he has formally written to the GFA to request clarification on the number of clubs that have supported the proposal for a presidential term extension.

Kurt Okraku still has more than two years left to complete his second term, and I believe that eight years is sufficient for any president to make a meaningful impact on our football. I would advise Kurt Okraku to finish his current term and step aside. A third term is unnecessary in our game. I have made my position clear to everyone — I do not support this, and I will always stand by it, he stated.
