Kofi Iddie Adams, Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, has inaugurated a new executive board of the Ghana Boxing Federation as part of efforts to reposition the sport for growth and integrity.
The ceremony, held in Accra, formally ushered in a new leadership team tasked with steering amateur boxing towards greater professionalism and transparency. The board is chaired by Dauda Fuseini, who pledged to work closely with the Government and key stakeholders to strengthen governance structures within the federation.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister underscored the importance of discipline, accountability and ethical conduct in the administration of the sport. He cautioned against practices that undermine the credibility of boxing and urged the newly inaugurated executives to prioritise athlete welfare and long-term development.
In his acceptance speech, Mr Fuseini assured the Ministry of the board’s commitment to implementing reforms aimed at attracting investment, enhancing technical standards and restoring public confidence in Ghanaian boxing.
The inauguration marks a renewed phase of collaboration between the Ministry and the federation, as authorities seek to revitalise the sport and restore its competitive standing both domestically and on the international stage.
