Libyan Premier League outfit Al Shomoa Club have confirmed the contract extension of Ghanaian striker Derrick Sasraku for an additional season, rewarding the player for his consistent performances and leadership on the field.

The 31-year-old forward, who joined the Libyan side in December 2023, has become an influential figure in the team’s attack, earning the trust of both management and supporters with his dedication and goal-scoring contributions.

Sasraku, known for his strength, aerial prowess and work ethic, has previously represented clubs in Tunisia, Albania, Oman and Indonesia before moving to North Africa. His new deal will keep him at the club until the end of the 2025 season.

Officials of Al Shomoa Club believe the contract extension will help consolidate the team’s attacking structure as they aim for a stronger finish in the upcoming league campaign.

“Derrick has been a true professional since joining us. His experience, discipline and ability to motivate younger players make him an important part of our project,” said a club spokesperson following the announcement.

For Sasraku, the extension represents both stability and an opportunity to further establish himself as one of the leading foreign players in Libyan football. It also reflects his growing reputation across the continent as a reliable and hard-working centre-forward.

The former Aduana Stars striker continues to build a diverse football career abroad, and his commitment to Al Shomoa Club is expected to inspire confidence within the squad as they push for greater success in the coming season.
