Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko SC have paid a courtesy visit to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, to seek his blessings ahead of their crucial CAF Confederation Cup encounter against Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco on Sunday.

Led by club officials, technical staff, and players, the delegation visited the Chief Imam at his residence in Fadama, Accra, where prayers were offered for the team’s success, unity, and safe participation in continental competition.
During the visit, the Chief Imam commended the Porcupine Warriors for upholding discipline and humility and urged them to play with determination and fairness.

“Football unites people, and Asante Kotoko carry the hopes of many Ghanaians. I pray for strength, wisdom, and victory for the team as they represent the nation,” he said.
Club captain Samba O’neill expressed gratitude on behalf of the team, stating:
“We are deeply honoured by the Chief Imam’s prayers and words of encouragement. His blessings mean a lot to us as we prepare for this important fixture.”
The visit forms part of Asante Kotoko’s spiritual and motivational preparations for Sunday’s high-stakes first-leg tie, which will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium, following CAF’s decision not to approve the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for the match.
The Porcupine Warriors are determined to secure a positive result in front of their home fans before travelling to Casablanca for the return leg.
