Ghana Premier League heavyweights Asante Kotoko have officially announced the signing of Guinean international forward Morifing Donzo on a free transfer as they strengthen their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The 27-year-old joins the Kumasi-based club from Hafia FC, bringing a wealth of experience from top-tier African competitions, including appearances in both the CAF Champions League and the Confederation Cup. He stands at 1.82 metres and is widely recognised for his physicality, pace, and versatility across the forward line.
Donzo signed a three-year contract with the Porcupine Warriors after successfully undergoing a medical examination in Kumasi. The agreement remains subject to the approval of his work permit.
Primarily a centre-forward, Donzo is equally adept at operating on either wing, offering Asante Kotoko multiple attacking options going into the new campaign.
In an interview with the club’s official media team, Donzo expressed his delight at finally joining Kotoko:
“I was eager to make this move last season, but sometimes football doesn’t go the way you plan. Better late than never. I’ve spoken with Amos Frimpong, who consistently encouraged me to come, and also with Mo (Camara) and Joe (Ablorh), who both spoke highly of the club.
I’m here now, ready to give everything and make a name for myself in front of these amazing fans.”
Donzo becomes Asante Kotoko’s 12th signing of the transfer window, following the additions of Aziz Haruna Dari, Francis Acquah, Zackaria Fuseini, Hubert Gyau, Johnson Owusu Oppong, Hilary Adabo, Philip Amoh, Shayibu Abubakar, Inusah Adam, Joseph Amoah, and Seth Kwadwo.
The club’s official statement reads:
“Asante Kotoko is delighted to announce the signing of Guinean forward Morifing Donzo on a three-year deal, following the successful completion of his medical. The deal is subject to the approval of his work permit.”
