Ghanaian sprinter Benjamin Azamati expressed his disappointment following his failure to qualify for the semi-finals of the 100m event at the World Athletics Championships.

Speaking candidly via Sporty FM, Azamati, who was seen wearing his distinctive yellow Ghana athletic kit with the Tokyo 2020 emblem, shared his frustration. “To be perfectly honest with you, I am struggling to find the words for what has transpired. It is what it is, and there are no excuses to be made for it,” he admitted, reflecting on his performance.

The athlete, known for his powerful sprinting prowess, was unable to advance beyond the preliminary rounds, a setback that has left him and his supporters disheartened. Azamati, who has been a prominent figure in Ghanaian athletics, emphasised his determination to move forward, stating his intent to learn from the experience without seeking to justify the outcome. The event, hosted under the auspices of the World Athletics Championships, saw fierce competition, with only the fastest athletes progressing to the next stage.

This statement comes as Azamati continues to represent Ghana on the global stage, carrying the hopes of a nation proud of its sporting heritage.
