Bechem United forward Godfred Yawson has expressed satisfaction with his performances during his maiden Ghana Premier League campaign, while setting his sights on an even more productive season next term.

The talented striker, who hails from Senya Bereku, joined Bechem United from Division Two side Cheetah FC ahead of the 2025/26 season and quickly adapted to the demands of top-flight football.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Ideal fm, Reflecting on his debut season in the Ghana Premier League, Yawson described the campaign as a successful learning experience and believes he has laid a solid foundation for greater achievements in the years ahead.

“My season was good at Bechem United, and I thank God for how far I have come. It was my first season in the Premier League, and I learned a lot,” Yawson said.

The former Cheetah FC striker admitted that the Ghana Premier League presents a significant challenge for players, citing the quality and competitiveness of the division.

“The Ghana Premier League is very difficult. Every team is strong, and you have to be at your best in every game. The competition has helped me improve as a player,” he noted.

Having successfully made the transition from Division Two football to the elite level, Yawson is determined to raise his standards even further in the upcoming campaign.

“I expect more numbers from myself next season. I want to score more goals, provide more assists and help Bechem United achieve its objectives,” he added.

Yawson also challenged the perception that players in Ghana’s top flight are poorly compensated, insisting that conditions in the league are improving.

“The payment is not bad in the Ghana Premier League. There is always room for improvement, but people should know that players are being looked after by some clubs,” he said.

The striker’s rise from Cheetah FC to the Ghana Premier League has been one of steady progress, and his debut season with Bechem United has further enhanced his reputation as one of the promising young forwards to watch.

With valuable top-flight experience now under his belt, the Senya Bereku native is eager to continue his development and play a leading role for Bechem United as the club prepares for the challenges of the new season.
