Goldstars and Asante Kotoko ready for the rest of Africa

Bibiani Goldstars and Asante Kotoko have officially secured the right to represent Ghana in the 2025/2026 CAF Inter-Club competitions, following the conclusion of the domestic football season.

The two clubs will feature in Africa’s elite club tournaments organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) – the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup. While Asante Kotoko, one of the most decorated football clubs in Ghana and on the continent, is expected to compete in the CAF Champions League, Bibiani Goldstars will make their maiden appearance on the continental stage in the CAF Confederation Cup.

This marks a significant milestone for Bibiani Goldstars, whose rapid rise in the Ghana Premier League has culminated in continental qualification. The club’s consistent performances throughout the season earned them a place among Ghana’s representatives, reflecting the growing strength of the team under the guidance of their technical and management staff.

Asante Kotoko’s return to continental football is seen as a boost not only to the club’s ambitions but also to Ghana’s hopes of reclaiming its place among Africa’s footballing giants. The Porcupine Warriors will be looking to make a strong impression, drawing from their rich history and experience in African competitions.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has extended its congratulations to both clubs and has pledged its support as they prepare for the challenges ahead. Both teams are expected to begin their preliminary rounds later this year, as outlined in CAF’s official competition calendar.

Football fans across the country will be hoping for strong performances from the two sides, as they aim to raise the Ghanaian flag high and earn valuable ranking points for the nation on the African football stage.
