Ghana’s national U-20 women’s team, the Black Princesses, have booked their place in the next round of the qualifies following a hard-fought 1–0 victory over South Africa away from home.

The decisive encounter, played in South Africa, saw Ghana advance 3–2 on aggregate after the two sides had earlier settled for a 2–2 draw in the first leg in Accra. The Black Princesses delivered a disciplined and resilient performance to edge their hosts and seal qualification.

Having conceded twice at home in the opening leg, Ghana travelled to South Africa aware that a composed and tactically sound display would be required to progress. The team responded with determination, maintaining defensive solidity while capitalising on their scoring opportunity to secure the crucial away goal.

The result underlines the steady development of women’s football in Ghana and highlights the growing potential within the youth ranks. The Black Princesses’ ability to manage pressure in an away fixture demonstrates both maturity and competitive spirit as they continue their campaign.

Attention will now turn to the next round, where the Princesses will be aiming to build on this momentum and move a step closer to their ultimate qualification target.
