The Black Queens have received a major reinforcement with French-Ghanaian defender Bénédicte Simon completing her switch of international allegiance to Ghana. She is expected to make her debut when Ghana face the England Women’s National Team on 2 December.

Simon, 26, arrives with an impressive football pedigree, having featured for some of Europe’s elite clubs. Her career includes spells with Paris Saint-Germain, Atlético Madrid, Juventus, and Valencia, and she currently plays for Servette Genève FC in the Swiss top flight.
She first represented France at the under-23 level in 2021 but has now opted to don the colours of Ghana, a move widely welcomed by fans and officials of the women’s national team.
Her addition is expected to strengthen the Black Queens’ defensive unit and add valuable experience as the team continues its rebuilding efforts.
Ghana welcomes its newest talent — a proud daughter of the soil.
