The Black Queens have held their first training session in the United Kingdom as they begin their final preparations for the high-profile international friendly against the Lionesses of England on Tuesday, 2 December.

The session, held at the Birmingham FA Training Centre, brought together all invited players, with Head Coach Nora Häuptle and her technical team taking the squad through light drills, ball possession exercises and tactical shape work. The aim was to help the players acclimatise quickly to the colder weather conditions while sharpening their cohesion ahead of the encounter.

Team officials reported a strong sense of focus and enthusiasm among the players, many of whom are eager to test themselves against one of the top-ranked women’s football sides in the world. The session also provided an opportunity for new call-ups to blend with the core of the squad and stake a claim for selection on matchday.

The Black Queens are expected to intensify their training over the coming days, with emphasis on transitions, defensive discipline and set-piece routines as they prepare for the formidable challenge posed by the European champions.

The friendly forms part of Ghana’s broader programme to strengthen the team ahead of major competitions, including the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) and upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

Team morale remains high, with the technical staff expressing confidence in the squad’s ability to deliver a competitive performance on Tuesday.
