Ghana’s Black Starlets have wrapped up their final training session in preparation for the WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship, set to take place in Côte d’Ivoire. The team’s last workout was held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at the University of Ghana Stadium Annex, marking the end of an intense preparation phase.

The Black Starlets have been in camp for the past four weeks, steadily building their fitness and tactics ahead of the regional tournament. The WAFU Championship doubles as the qualifying competition for the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), raising the stakes for Ghana’s young squad.

Under the guidance of head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, the team is poised for departure today, September 15, from Accra to Yamoussoukro. There, the Black Starlets will continue their preparations before the championship officially begins on September 20.

Ghana’s youth team carries a deep legacy, being two-time U-17 World Cup champions. This campaign offers them an opportunity to assert their authority on the continent and build momentum toward reclaiming continental supremacy.
