Ghana’s senior national football team, the Black Stars, will resume their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign with crucial matches against Chad and Mali in early September.

The four-time African champions will first take on Chad on Wednesday, 4 September, before hosting Mali four days later, on Sunday, 8 September 2025. Both fixtures form part of the third and fourth rounds of the CAF qualifiers for the global showpiece scheduled to take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

These matches are pivotal for the Black Stars, who are aiming to secure a place in their fifth World Cup appearance after competing in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022. Ghana will be hoping to build momentum and solidify their position in Group I, which also includes Madagascar, Comoros, and the Central African Republic.

Venue details and kick-off times are expected to be confirmed by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in the coming weeks. Head coach Otto Addo is anticipated to name his squad later this month, with several key players likely to return from injury.

With qualification at stake, Ghanaian fans will be looking forward to strong performances from the Black Stars in both encounters.
