Ghanaian international Ernest Nuamah is stepping up his preparations as he targets a strong return to French Ligue 1 action this season.

The 21-year-old winger, who endured an injury setback last term, has been working tirelessly in training as he aims to rediscover the form that made him one of the most exciting young attackers in European football.

Nuamah, who joined Olympique Lyonnais from Danish side FC Nordsjælland, has spoken of his determination to come back stronger and repay the faith shown in him by both the club and the fans. Close sources reveal that the Black Stars forward is “very motivated” and eager to prove himself once again on the big stage.

“I feel refreshed and motivated. It has been a difficult period, but I’m working hard every day to be in the best shape possible. My goal is to return stronger, help my team and make our supporters proud,” Nuamah is reported to have said.

Lyon’s technical team also view his return as a major boost to their attacking options, with the expectation that his pace, creativity and direct style of play will play a vital role in their push for a stronger campaign in Ligue 1. Club insiders believe Nuamah’s presence will add much-needed depth and flair in the final third, especially as they aim for European qualification.

Nuamah’s return will also be welcomed by Ghana’s national team setup, with head coach Otto Addo closely monitoring his progress ahead of the Black Stars’ World Cup qualifiers later this year.
