Bouchra Hajij, President of the African Volleyball Confederation, Vice President of the International Volleyball Federation, and the Arab Volleyball Federation, has achieved a remarkable milestone by joining the list of the “50 Most Influential African Women in Sports for 2025,” affirming her position as one of the leading female sports leaders on the continent and globally.
Her selection by the International Olympic Committee recognizes her pioneering role in developing African volleyball and promoting women’s presence in sports leadership positions, as well as her efforts to modernize the federation’s structure and launch development programs for national teams, particularly in the women’s categories.
The list features a distinguished group of influential figures, including Kirsty Coventry, President of the International Olympic Committee; Fatma Samoura, former Secretary-General of FIFA; Claire Akamanzi, CEO of NBA Africa; as well as world-class athletes such as Faith Kipyegon, a world record holder.
This recognition reflects the international acknowledgment of Bouchra Hajij’s career and achievements in sports leadership, highlighting the growing role of Moroccan and African women in advancing sports at both the continental and global levels.
