Mining and construction company Engineers & Planners, owned by Ghanaian businessman Ibrahim Mahama, has paid $5 million to secure headline sponsorship of Ghana’s World Cup fundraising campaign.

The significant financial commitment is expected to provide a major boost to preparations and logistical arrangements ahead of the nation’s participation in the upcoming FIFA World Cup. Sources close to the campaign indicate that the funds will support key areas as far Ghana’s participation at the world cup including providing supports for the Ghanain support base.
Officials involved in the initiative have described the sponsorship as a “timely intervention”, highlighting the importance of private sector support in complementing government efforts to ensure the national team remains competitive on the global stage.
The fundraising campaign forms part of a broader strategy to mobilise corporate Ghana and the diaspora to contribute towards a successful World Cup outing. With Engineers & Planners now confirmed as headline sponsors, organisers are optimistic that more institutions and individuals will follow suit.
