Hearts of Oak have confirmed that dependable centre-back David Oppong Afrane has committed his immediate future to the club by signing a one-year contract extension.

The 23-year-old defender, who joined the Phobians in 2022, has become a key figure in the team’s backline with his consistency, composure, and leadership qualities. Afrane played a pivotal role in last season’s campaign, making over 25 appearances and helping the side to secure crucial clean sheets.

Speaking after the deal was finalised, Afrane expressed his delight at continuing with the Accra giants, pledging to give his all for the badge. The club, in turn, described him as an “integral part of the squad” as they aim to challenge strongly for the Ghana Premier League title and make an impact in continental competitions.
