Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has handed maiden call-ups to four players ahead of Ghana’s international friendlies against Austria and Germany later this month.

Defenders Derrick Luckassen and Marvin Senaya, along with forward Daniel Agyei, are among the players named in the 26-man squad for the two crucial preparatory matches as Ghana steps up preparations for the FIFA World Cup.

Luckassen, a centre-back who plays for Pafos FC in Cyprus, is a product of the renowned AZ Alkmaar academy. The 29-year-old has enjoyed a well-travelled career across Europe, featuring for clubs including PSV Eindhoven, Hertha BSC, R.S.C. Anderlecht, Kasımpaşa S.K., Fatih Karagümrük S.K. and Maccabi Tel Aviv F.C.. He played a key role in helping Pafos win the 2024–25 Cypriot league title and notably scored the club’s first-ever goal in the UEFA Champions League.

Senaya, meanwhile, plays for French Ligue 1 side AJ Auxerre. The right-back previously featured for RC Strasbourg Alsace, FC Sochaux-Montbéliard and FC Lausanne-Sport, having made his professional debut in 2021.

Forward Agyei currently plies his trade with Turkish club Kocaelispor. Born in England, he began his career in the English football system, featuring for Leyton Orient F.C., Crewe Alexandra F.C., Oxford United F.C. and Burnley F.C. before making the move to Turkey.

Also returning to the national team are key players including Iñaki Williams, Brandon Thomas-Asante, Ibrahim Sulemana, Thomas Partey and Alexander Djiku, who strengthen the squad ahead of the upcoming encounters.

Ghana will first face Austria in Vienna on March 27 before travelling to Stuttgart to take on Germany on March 30, 2026.
