Dutch Eredivisie side NAC Breda have officially announced the signing of former Ghana captain André Ayew on a free transfer, marking a new chapter in the experienced forward’s illustrious career.

The 36-year-old has signed a contract with the Yellow and Black outfit until the end of the 2025–26 season, with an option for renewal subject to performance-related clauses. Ayew arrives at the Rat Verlegh Stadion bringing vast top-level experience, having featured prominently in the English Premier League, Ligue 1 and major international tournaments.

A three-time FIFA World Cup participant with Ghana, Ayew remains keen on extending his international career and is targeting a return to the Black Stars setup ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Sources close to the player indicate that regular playing time and strong performances in the Eredivisie were key factors behind his decision to join NAC Breda.
Ayew, who has earned over 120 caps for Ghana and captained the national team for several years, is expected to play a leadership role both on and off the pitch, offering guidance to younger players while boosting NAC Breda’s attacking options for the remainder of the campaign.
The club’s management has described the signing as a statement of ambition, expressing confidence that Ayew’s professionalism, experience and goal-scoring pedigree will have a positive impact as NAC Breda push for stability and improved results in the Dutch top flight.
