Ghanaian music icon Shatta Wale has been confirmed as the headline performer for this year’s GHALCA President’s Cup, scheduled for Sunday, 6 July 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The highly anticipated event, which features the iconic Super Clash between Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, will also be graced by President John Dramani Mahama, who is expected to present the trophy to the winning team.

Organised annually by the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) in honour of the sitting president, the President’s Cup is celebrating its 17th edition this year. As always, it will showcase Ghana’s two most decorated football clubs—Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko—in what remains the nation’s biggest domestic rivalry.

Adding to the excitement, entry to this year’s fixture will be free of charge, a move aimed at allowing fans from all walks of life to witness the clash and share in the national celebration.

In addition to the thrilling football on display, fans will be treated to a live performance by Shatta Wale, one of Africa’s leading dancehall artistes. Renowned for his energetic performances and widespread appeal, Shatta Wale is expected to light up the stadium with a set of his popular hits during halftime and after the final whistle.

His presence introduces a dynamic entertainment dimension to the event, reaffirming the President’s Cup as not merely a football match, but a celebration of Ghanaian sport, music, and culture.
