Ghanaian midfielder Daniel Kofi Kyereh has been officially named in SC Freiburg’s squad ahead of the 2025/2026 Bundesliga season.
The 28-year-old, who was sidelined for several months due to a serious anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, has now fully recovered and resumed training with the first team. His return has been met with excitement among Freiburg fans and coaching staff, who believe his presence will add creativity and attacking depth to the midfield.
Kyereh joined SC Freiburg in 2022 from FC St. Pauli and made an immediate impact in his debut season, featuring in both domestic and European competitions. Prior to his injury, he had established himself as a key player, earning plaudits for his vision, technical ability, and goal-scoring contributions.
With the new Bundesliga campaign set to kick off in late August, SC Freiburg will be looking to build on last season’s mid-table finish, and Kyereh’s return could prove crucial to their ambitions.
His inclusion in the squad is also good news for Ghana, with Black Stars coach Otto Addo expected to monitor his fitness and form closely ahead of upcoming international fixtures.
