Egypt emerged victorious at the 2025 Africa AirBadminton Championships, claiming gold in the Team Relay event held at Laboma Beach in Accra, Ghana.
In a thrilling final, Egypt overcame Nigeria with a 60–46 win to secure the continental title. While the contest remained closely fought throughout, Egypt’s superior technical ability and tactical cohesion ultimately proved decisive, earning them the top step of the podium.
Spectators were treated to a high-octane spectacle as both nations showcased the speed, skill, and excitement that define AirBadminton.
Ticket to the World Stage
Egypt’s triumph not only represents a major milestone on the African stage but also guarantees their qualification for the inaugural BWF AirBadminton World Cup, scheduled to take place from 11–14 December 2025 in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. As runners-up, Nigeria have also secured their place at the historic global event.
The upcoming World Cup is expected to feature the world’s top AirBadminton teams, delivering a showcase of athleticism, teamwork, and innovation.
A Celebration of African Talent
The 2025 Africa AirBadminton Championships were widely praised as a resounding success, highlighting the growing depth of talent across the continent.
The event brought together around 108 athletes from 11 countries, competing in a range of categories including Team Relay, Women’s Triples, and Men’s Triples.
Held from 3 to 6 July, the championships not only fostered elite-level competition but also served to promote the development and popularity of AirBadminton throughout Africa.
