The Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, who joined the Phobians from Dreams F.C., has been in outstanding form whenever called upon. His consistency between the posts, commanding presence in the penalty area and strong organisational skills have earned him widespread praise from supporters and pundits alike.

Speaking after news of his selection emerged,  Sources Close to Agbasi says the player could not hide his excitement.

“I am really happy to get this call-up since that is what we have been working towards all this time,” he said. “It is a dream for every player to represent Ghana at the highest level, and I am grateful for the opportunity.”

The invitation is widely regarded as a deserved reward for his impressive performances in the Ghana Premier League, where he has established himself as one of the most dependable goalkeepers on the domestic scene. Since arriving at Hearts of Oak, Agbasi has grown in confidence and maturity, producing crucial saves in high-pressure encounters and helping to solidify the club’s defence.

Sources close to Sportsnet.gh have confirmed that Agbasi, alongside fellow goalkeeper Benjamin Asare and other selected locally based players, are expected to visit the German Embassy on Wednesday to process travel documentation ahead of the team’s departure for the assignment.

The friendly matches against Germany and Austria will offer the technical team of the Ghana national football team a valuable opportunity to assess players and test tactical options as the Black Stars continue their build-up towards the 2026 World Cup.

For Agbasi, the call-up marks not only a personal milestone but also a significant step in his burgeoning career. Should he earn a place in the starting line-up, the Hearts of Oak shot-stopper would join a distinguished list of locally based players who have gone on to represent Ghana at the highest level, further underlining his status as one of the nation’s most promising talents.
