The Nigeria women’s national under-20 football team have officially resumed camp in Abuja as preparations intensify for the final round of qualifiers for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2026.

According to the Nigeria Football Federation Communications Department, a number of invited players reported to camp on Monday, 6 April 2026, with full training sessions commencing the following day. The squad has since engaged in rigorous training focused on improving fitness levels, strengthening team cohesion and sharpening tactical awareness, as the technical crew awaits the arrival of the remaining invitees.

Addressing the players at the opening session, Head Coach Moses Aduku urged his team to maintain focus, discipline and commitment as they prepare for the decisive fixture. He stressed the importance of teamwork and determination, noting that only a collective effort would secure qualification against a resolute Malawian side.

The players, in response, have expressed confidence and a strong sense of readiness, with training sessions in camp reflecting a high level of intensity and purpose as the team aims to reach peak condition ahead of the encounter.

Malawi booked their place in the final qualifying round after overcoming Guinea-Bissau in their previous tie, setting up a crucial two-legged contest with the Falconets. The first leg is scheduled to take place in Nigeria on Saturday, 2 May, with the return fixture to be played in Malawi a week later.

Africa will be represented by four teams at the tournament, which is set to be staged in Poland from 5 to 26 September 2026.
