French Ligue 1 side FC Metz have announced the signing of Ghanaian centre-back Terry Yegbe from Swedish Allsvenskan club IF Elfsborg on a four-year deal.

The highly-rated defender, who has been on the radar of several European clubs following his impressive performances in Sweden, is expected to add solidity and versatility to the Metz backline as they prepare for the new campaign.

Speaking after completing the move, Yegbe said:

“I am very happy to be here. I cannot wait to play and meet the entire team. I would like to thank my agents, everyone who has supported me, and of course FC Metz for the trust they have shown in me.”

Yegbe, who began his career in Ghana before making the switch to Europe, has developed into a commanding presence in defence and was instrumental in Elfsborg’s recent domestic campaign. His move to Ligue 1 represents the next step in his professional journey, and Metz supporters will be eager to see him in action.

The 22-year-old joins fellow Africans in the Metz squad and will be hoping to make an immediate impact in France’s top flight.
