Former Ghana International Kwesi Appiah Rejoins Ebbsfleet United on One-Year Deal

Former Ghana international Kwesi Appiah has rejoined English side Ebbsfleet United on a one-year contract ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The 34-year-old striker returns to his boyhood club following a prolific spell with Boreham Wood, where he netted 24 goals to help the team secure promotion to the National League.

Appiah is expected to lead the line for Ebbsfleet United, who currently compete in the National League South, as the club sets its sights on a return to the fifth tier of English football.

“I cherished starting my career here and it was a really important factor in my decision to come back,” said Appiah. “Now I’m hoping to achieve a very successful season for the team and the club… and that’s why I’m driven to score goals and raise standards around the squad.”

The veteran forward made his first-team debut for Ebbsfleet in 2008, scoring once in five appearances before moving on in 2009. Over the years, he featured for several English clubs, including Crystal Palace, AFC Wimbledon, and Crawley Town. His time in the Premier League, however, was curtailed by injuries.

Appiah also enjoyed a stint in the Indian Super League with NorthEast United FC before returning to the English game.

Capped seven times by Ghana, Appiah represented the Black Stars at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, where the team finished as runners-up.
