The Ghana Para-Powerlifting Association, under the auspices of the National Paralympic Committee of Ghana 🇬🇭(NPC-Ghana), has successfully kick-started its National Talent Hunt dubbed “LiftBeyondLimits” A New Hope Through Para-Powerlifting by encouraging individuals who are physically challenged who may have been sidelined by society, struggling with self-doubt, to regain their confidence through the sport with a vibrant event at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Wednesday , August 6, 2025.

This long-awaited initiative aims to scout and develop new talent across the country to feed into Ghana’s Para-Powerlifting Team for our upcoming national and international competitions.

The event brought together over 35 persons with impairments or disabilities within the Central Region of Ghana

The coaching team featured Head Coach Prince Nyarko, George Ohene-Adu and our National Paralympian Tahiru Haruna.

By the end of the day, 12 determined and talented athletes had been selected for further training and development.

Beyond talent scouting, the exercise also contributed to building a more accurate national database for para powerlifting participants.

The Ghana Para Powerlifting Association extended appreciation to the NPC President Samson Deen, Dr. Abena Tannor and other key stakeholders for making this a success
