Ghana’s rising wrestling talents delivered an outstanding performance on the international stage, securing two gold medals at the Youth Freestyle Wrestling Championship held in Guinea-Bissau.

Prince Owusu led the charge with a dominant display in the boys’ under-45kg category. The young grappler showcased exceptional technique, strength and composure throughout the competition, overcoming a series of determined opponents to clinch the top prize. His tactical awareness and resilience proved decisive in a thrilling final, earning him well-deserved gold.

Not to be outdone, Muphtawu Mohammed also impressed as he stormed to victory in the boys’ under-51kg division. Demonstrating remarkable agility and discipline, Mohammed controlled his bouts with confidence, sealing his triumph with a commanding performance in the final to secure Ghana’s second gold medal of the tournament.

The double success highlights the growing strength of youth wrestling in Ghana and reflects the hard work being done at grassroots level to nurture emerging talent.
