Ghana is set to make history as it prepares to host the Zone III Club Volleyball Championship for the first time ever in 2026. The Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) Zone 3 has officially endorsed Kalibi Volleyball Club as the host of the highly anticipated tournament, which will feature both men’s and women’s competitions. This announcement marks a landmark occasion for Ghanaian volleyball and the wider sporting community.

The championship is scheduled to take place in Accra between February and March 2026, promising to bring together top club teams from across Africa’s Zone III region. The tournament is expected to showcase the best volleyball talent on the continent while providing a platform for healthy competition and the growth of the sport in the host nation and neighboring countries.

Kalibi Volleyball Club will collaborate closely with the Ghana Volleyball Federation to ensure the event is smoothly organized and successfully executed. This partnership aims to leverage local expertise and resources to provide teams, officials and fans with a memorable sporting experience. Organizers are already working on the logistics and planning required for what is anticipated to be a thrilling championship.

Hosting the Zone III Club Volleyball Championship underscores Ghana’s rising profile in continental volleyball and highlights the country’s commitment to nurturing the sport. The event will also boost local interest and participation in volleyball, inspiring young athletes and creating opportunities for development at grassroots levels.

This milestone is a significant step forward for Ghana Volleyball, signaling increased recognition within the African volleyball community ahead of future continental competitions. With the country playing host for the first time, hopes are high that the successful staging of the championship will pave the way for more international sporting events in Ghana.
