In the second week of the Collegiate Indoor track and field season, Ghanaian athletes deliverers another outstanding performances
At the Washburn Rust Buster, Rafiatu Nuhu achieved a personal best in the women’s 400m, finishing second with a time of 56.20 seconds, and later secured another second place finish in the women’s 200m with a time of 24.75 seconds, marking her personal best for indoor events.
N-Vanee Anchike finished 4th in the women’s 1-mile with a time of 5:9.49, while Mercy Angaamchaab set a Meet record, dominating the 600y with a time of 1:27.20. Rosemary Arthur placed 9th overall in the women’s 3000m with a time of 10.36.81s
Additionally, Grace Obour competed in the 200m, finishing 11th with a time of 24.36 seconds. Lovina Ewusi, Grace Obour, and her team ran a notable time of 3:45.04 in the 4x400m, leading the NJCAA time at Dr. MLK Jr Collegiate Invitational.
Doris Mensah showcased an impressive performance by winning the women’s 60m at the Vanderbilt Invitational with a time of 7.63 seconds, a personal best. Blessing Samuel landed a Personal Best of 5.91m
Rejoice Agbewodie kicked off her indoor season with a personal best of 15.26m to win the women’s weight throw. She then placed 3rd in shot put with a distance of 11.70m, also a personal best. Grace Kombetto triumphed in the women’s 800m with a time of 2:23.97, a personal best for indoor events, while Patience Boahemaa placed 2nd in the women’s shot put with a distance of 12.03m at the Jim MieIke competition.
Ethel Amissah started her 200m season with a time of 24.86 seconds, securing 3rd place overall. Sakina Umar won the women’s long jump with a distance of 5.54m and also placed 3rd in the women’s triple jump with a distance of 11.47m.
Rose Yeboah placed second in the women’s high jump at Larry Wieczorek Invitational with a distance of 1.84m
Benedicta Kwartemaa run a personal best of 24.93s and Halutie Hor also run a personal best of 7.62s with Carolina Challenge.
Turning to the male athletes, Wallace Aflamah – achieved a new personal best in the 60m category with a time of 6.78 seconds at the Richard Alsup Open.
Raymond French won the 60m, 400m and 200m with times of 6.95s, 48.57s, and 22.29 seconds, respectively, at the Coach Open.
At the Crimson Storm Invitational, Bossman Pinkrah and Charcles Frimpong posted times of 7.08s and 7.29s. And at Carolina Challenge, Solomon Hammond run a personal best of 6.67s
Ishmael Acheampong at the Washburn Rust Buster, he placed 30th overall in the men’s 800m with a time of 2:00.75s
