Emmanuel Toku Parts Ways with OH Leuven After Mutual Contract Termination

Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Toku has officially left Belgian top-flight club OH Leuven following the mutual termination of his contract, the club confirmed on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old joined OH Leuven in 2023 from Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv, but struggled for regular playing time during his stint in the Belgian Pro League.

Toku’s introduction to life at Leuven was severely hampered by injury. His debut lasted just 22 minutes before he sustained a serious injury in a league match against KAA Gent, which sidelined him for an extended period and disrupted his integration into the squad.

In a statement, the club announced that both parties had agreed to terminate the contract by mutual consent, allowing the player to pursue new opportunities elsewhere.

Toku began his professional career in Denmark with Fremad Amager before making a move to Botev Plovdiv, where his performances attracted the attention of the Belgian outfit.

Having represented Ghana at various youth levels, Toku is widely regarded as a technically gifted midfielder with strong attacking instincts. His next move is expected to be announced in the coming weeks as he seeks to revive his career.
