Gold Stars head coach Frimpong Manso has praised his side’s spirited performance after securing a 2-1 victory over Asante Kotoko in the opening fixture of the GHALCA Top 4 tournament.

Manso described the result as a positive start, emphasising that the competition offers his team the perfect platform to fine-tune preparations ahead of their maiden CAF Champions League campaign later this year.

The experienced coach, however, insisted that the focus has already shifted to their next encounter against Hearts of Oak, noting that each match presents an opportunity to assess the squad’s readiness for continental football.
