GPL: Accra Hearts of Oak ends the year in style as they beat Bechem United by a single goal to zero

Hearts of Oak ended the year with a 1-0 win over Bechem United while, former champions Aduana Stars signed off with an impressive 4-1 win over Dreams F.C.

Meanwhile, Kpando Heart of Lions recorded their first win of the season with a 1-0 win over 2011 champions Berekum Chelsea.

Hearts struggled before securing maximum points as Martin Karikari’s late goal settled the contest in Kumasi

New signing Kassim Cisse was presented with the game’s first opportunity but the Ivorian forward fire wide after 20 minutes.

With fourteen minutes remaining, Clinton Duodo had the games brightest chance when he was put through on goal by Avornyo. However, the former national under 20 forward fired wide with the goalkeeper at his mercy.

Six minutes later, Emmanuel Annor weaved his way through the Hearts defense but his feeble effort was saved by Hearts keeper, Richard Attah.

Sunday’s win moves Hearts to nineth on the league table with 21 points. However, the Phobians have played more matches than all but two teams below them; Accra Lions and Kpando Heart of Lions.
