GTF Presents Tennis Equipment to Regional Associations, Academies

The leadership of the Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF) has presented tennis equipment to some regional associations and tennis academies to support talent development in Schools.

The gesture was aimed at promoting the “Tennis in Schools Project”, which is one of the visions of the federation.

The items included thousands of tennis balls, rackets and kits.

The recipients were Winneba Tennis Center, Korlebu Tennis Training Center, National Tennis Center (Stadium), PM Sports/Central Region, Tina Tagoe Academy and St. Francis Academy.

The rest were Asamu J Tennis & Fitness Center, Victoria Dowuna Academy, Northern Regional Tennis Association, Upper East Regional Tennis Association and Upper West Regional Tennis Association.

Presenting the items, Mr. Jesse Ato Desbordes, a board member of the GTF, noted that “The Tennis in Schools Project” will offer the players opportunity to compete in the various national teams as a well as the ITF competitions organised by the partners of the federation such as the Tennis Foundation Ghana.

He said the GTF will continue to support its member associations from time to time to ensure the development of the sport in the regions and the country at large.
