Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has lavished praise on Ghana international Antoine Semenyo following his recent impressive performances, describing the forward as a complete attacking threat.

Speaking after City’s latest victory, Guardiola highlighted Semenyo’s growing influence in front of goal and his all-round contribution to the team’s attacking play.

“He has scored a lot of goals,” Guardiola said. “He has a real instinct for second balls in the penalty area, but it is not just that. His pace, his intensity, the way he protects possession and drives forward with the ball – top level.”

The Spaniard was also quick to commend the club’s recruitment team for securing both Semenyo and England defender Marc Guéhi, whom he believes have significantly strengthened the squad.

“I said the club made incredible signings with Marc and Antoine,” Guardiola added. “They have brought quality, personality and hunger to the team.”

Semenyo’s ability to anticipate loose balls inside the box has added a new dimension to City’s attacking play, while his work rate and physical presence have made him a constant nuisance for defenders. Beyond his goals, the 26-year-old has impressed with his pressing, ball retention and willingness to track back – attributes that align perfectly with Guardiola’s high-intensity system.

With his confidence growing and his influence increasing, Semenyo is fast becoming one of the standout performers in City’s title push, earning recognition not only from supporters but from one of the most demanding managers in world football.
