Hearts of Oak Release Kwabena Boateng After One Season

Accra Hearts of Oak have officially parted company with forward Kwabena Boateng after just one season with the club.

Boateng joined the Phobians ahead of the 2024/25 campaign but struggled to secure a regular place in the starting line-up. Although he demonstrated glimpses of his ability in both league and cup competitions, he was unable to establish himself as a consistent presence in the team’s attack.

Following months of speculation over his future, the player and the club reached a mutual agreement to terminate his contract, bringing his brief spell with the Accra giants to an end.

Sources close to Boateng suggest that he is open to exploring new opportunities, with potential interest expected from fellow Ghana Premier League sides as well as clubs abroad.

For Hearts of Oak, his departure forms part of a wider rebuilding process, as the club looks to strengthen its squad after a series of underwhelming campaigns. The Phobians are anticipated to recruit new attacking options during the transfer window.

Boateng leaves with the goodwill of the Hearts faithful, who remain optimistic that he can revive his career and realise his potential in the next chapter of his professional journey.
