Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak have reportedly initiated contact with Gor Mahia assistant coach Bismark Kobi Mensah regarding the possibility of taking over as the club’s next head coach.

Sources close to the development indicate that the Phobians are exploring several options as they seek to appoint a new manager ahead of the upcoming season, with Mensah emerging as a strong candidate for the position.

The highly-rated Ghanaian tactician has built a solid reputation during his time with Kenyan powerhouse Gor Mahia, where he has played a key role in the club’s recent successes. His tactical knowledge, player development skills and familiarity with African football have reportedly impressed Hearts of Oak officials.

The Accra-based club are determined to strengthen their technical setup following a challenging campaign and are keen to appoint a coach capable of restoring the team to title contention both domestically and on the continental stage.

Mensah’s potential appointment would represent a significant step in his coaching career, with the opportunity to lead one of Ghana’s most successful and widely supported clubs. Hearts of Oak supporters have been eagerly awaiting news regarding the club’s next managerial appointment as preparations intensify for the 2026/27 season.

While discussions are understood to be at an early stage, the Phobians are expected to continue evaluating their options before making a final decision. Should negotiations progress positively, Bismark Kobi Mensah could emerge as the man tasked with guiding Hearts of Oak back to the summit of Ghanaian football.

An official announcement from the club is yet to be made.
