The Phobians parted ways with Dutch trainer Martin Koopman on Tuesday following the club’s unimpressive start to the 2023/24 season.

The former continental champions have shortlisted the clubs legend Yaw Preko and three other coaches for the vacant head coach post, according to latest reports.

The Phobians parted ways with Dutch trainer Martin Koopman on Tuesday following a string of uninspiring performances in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League campaign.

Media reports say the Capital Club has pencilled down former coaches Charles Akonnor, Yaw Preko, Bashir Hayford, and a UK-based coach for the vacant post.

Hearts, 21-time Ghana Premier League winners, sit 11th on the 18-club league table with 12 points after winning just 2 of their 10 league games.

Though the club boost of the strongest defence in the league (together with Nsoatreman – 6 goals conceded), the former African champions also have the weakest attack in the league (together with bottom-placed Heart of Lions) as they have scored just 6 goals from 10 games.

Prior to his sacking, Koopman had amassed 1.20 points per game for the club, which represents one of the worst records by any of the club’s recent coaches.
