The International Federation for Football History and Statistics, IFFHS, has ranked leagues in Africa with North Africans dominating the top ten for CAF.
The ranking comes in evidence to support the countries dominance in club football in Africa seeing four of them in the top ten.
The Egyptian league has been ranked by the reputable football statistical institution as the highest ranked league in Africa and placed 13th in the world.
Algeria comes close second to Egypt in Africa but a distance 20th in the world to solidify the North Africans domineering of the Africa leagues.
Followed by Algeria is Morocco on 3rd position and 24th in the world with Tunisia finishing the lowest ranked amongst the North Africans on the 8th position in Africa and 68th in the world.
The ranking is not startling and near perfection judging from the fact that clubs from these countries have won and dominated the Africa Club Competitions in the last twenty-years.
In that time spate, between 2003 and 2023, North Africans clubs have won the CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup, a combined 29 times with North Africans winning the Champions League trophy since 2017.
The likes of Al Ahly and Zamalek of Cairo, Etoile du Sahel, Wydad Casablanca Casablanca, Esperance of Tunis, just to mention some few are some of the clubs to aid North Africa leagues to warrant this enviable feet.
Meritoriously, Tanzania climbed to 5th on the table in Africa and 35th in the world just behind Sudan who are 33rd in the world.
South Africa, Angola, Nigeria and Zambia where 6th, 7th, 9th and 10th respectively in Africa falling 52nd, 60th, 77th and 79th in the world in that order.
