The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon were given a grand reception upon arrival for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign, as players were chauffeur-driven in luxury SUVs provided by the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) from Yaoundé Nsimalen Airport to the Hilton Hotel.

The star-studded squad assembled in the capital included André Onana, Bryan Mbeumo, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Christian Bassogog, and Jean-Charles Castelletto, all of whom reported promptly for national duty. Their presence underscores the determination of head coach Marc Brys’s side to secure qualification for the global showpiece.

Cameroon, five-time World Cup participants and Africa’s most successful representatives on the global stage, are seeking to maintain their strong standing in Group D. The arrival of their key players is expected to boost team morale and excite supporters ahead of their upcoming fixtures.

FECAFOOT’s lavish gesture, ensuring the players’ comfort and prestige on arrival, also highlights the importance the federation attaches to these qualifiers, with national pride and World Cup participation at stake.

The Indomitable Lions will now continue their preparations in Yaoundé before taking to the pitch in matches that could prove decisive in their quest to book a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
