🇬🇭🇧🇪 Manchester City winger Jérémy Baffour Doku has officially received his Ghanaian passport for the first time, solidifying his status as a dual national.

The 22-year-old, born in Antwerp to Ghanaian parents, has long expressed pride in his heritage, and this recent step highlights his desire to remain closely connected to his Ghanaian roots. Despite opting to represent Belgium at international level—where he has already earned over 20 caps and featured at both UEFA Euro 2020 and the 2022 FIFA World Cup—Doku’s decision to obtain his Ghanaian passport signals a strong personal and cultural bond with the West African nation.

Receiving the Ghanaian passport not only grants him formal recognition of his ancestry but also makes future travel and engagement with Ghana easier, whether for family visits, philanthropic work, or potential off-field ventures in the country.

Since joining Manchester City from French side Rennes in 2023, Doku has become known for his electric pace, dribbling flair and creativity on the wing. His dual identity as both Belgian and Ghanaian continues to inspire young footballers in Europe and Africa alike, showing that one can embrace multiple cultures with pride and purpose.
