Jonathan Tetteh “Worldwide” Presents WBA Africa Title to Ga Mantse

Ghanaian boxer Jonathan Tetteh, popularly known as “Worldwide”, has presented his WBA Africa Light-Heavyweight Championship belt to the Ga Mantse following his victory over UK-based compatriot Freezy Macbones.

The symbolic presentation took place in Accra as part of a courtesy call on the Ga Traditional Council, where the newly crowned champion paid homage to the Ga Mantse and acknowledged the support of the traditional authorities and the Ghanaian public throughout his title campaign.

Tetteh clinched the continental crown after emerging victorious over Freezy Macbones in a keenly contested bout, which went the full distance and ended in a unanimous decision in his favour. The judges returned scores of 80–73, 78–74 and 77–75, handing Tetteh the most significant win of his professional career to date.

Speaking during the visit, the champion expressed gratitude to the Ga Mantse for the honour and dedicated the belt to the people of Ga and Ghana as a whole. He described the title as a source of pride and motivation as he sets his sights on greater achievements on the international stage.

The Ga Mantse, in his remarks, congratulated Tetteh on the historic feat and commended him for using his success to inspire the youth. He urged the boxer to remain disciplined and focused as he continues his rise in the sport.

Tetteh’s triumph has been widely celebrated within the local boxing fraternity and is seen as a major boost for Ghana boxing, reinforcing the country’s rich legacy in the sport.
