Celebrated media practitioner Karl Tufuoh has been named the chairman of the Media and Communications Committee for Ghana Athletics.

The award-winning broadcaster and communications lecturer leads the 7-member team as a fresh strategic drive to reposition athletics in the West African nation gathers momentum.

Rosalind Amoh, who has devoted decades of her journalism career to the coverage of local and international athletics, is the vice chairperson of the committee.

Multimedia broadcaster Muftawu Nabila Abdulai together with seasoned sports writer and online journalist Emmanuel Akyereko Frimpong are also on the committee.

Other members of the committee includes young and vibrant sports Journalist and writer Emmanuel Austin Baah, Charles Osei Asibey, and Philippina Frimpong who is the CEO of Ghana Athletics.

During its four-year mandate period, the committee shall be responsible for the strategic repositioning of the sport in the country.

Furthermore, the new leadership of the committee has tasked the committee to lead the charge in their effort to promote and market the sport and give it a positive image through a quality public relations drive.

The committee is also expected to develop a communications policy for the federation and advise the new executives on various communications strategies and their implementation plans.
